I am back today with another page dedicated to World Breastfeeding Week Celebrations. You can view the 1st page I did on this occasion here.
Today's page is more representational then actually depicting breastfeeding in actuality. Breastfeeding lays the root of good health in children. It is the foundation of life that the child will live. Breastfeeding prevents a child from various health issues in later life too. So when a mother chooses to breastfeed her child, she is sowing the seeds of a nourished and healthy life. It is also a way of a mother expressing her love and care for her child and hence, I have added hearts to represent a mother's love for her child.

Another wonderful and poignant journal entry Dr. Neha. You chose perfect additions to make this tree truly come to life. It has heart, too. I agree that breastfeeding is so important, and I can see how much you care about this. It's so good you are spreading the word by using your art to do so. An we thank you for allowing us to view your wonderful work as you share it with us at Art Journal Journey. I am thrilled you have taken up this cause, which is vital, especially for new first time mothers.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much :) This cause is also very close to my heart as I have specialised in neonatal nutrition and even when we saw babies in NICU and if we could feed them, we used to encourage mother to pump breastmilk and feed that to the baby.
DeleteJust wonderful! I love your engagement for this worthwhile cause! It's very important . I was born at a time where the most were brought up with the bottle - me too. But at least with mothermilk at the beginning as they told me. I breastfed my daughter( born 2001) and it was a wonderful experience to do it.I loved it.
ReplyDeleteThank you for yet another wonderful entry linked to our August theme at Art Journal Journey - Your heart-tree of life is wonderful!
Happy weekend Hugs Susi
Hi Susi,
DeleteThanks for sharing your experience for breastfeeding your daughter. Its great to know that you could breastfeed her. Times when you were born, the formula companies advertised so much that mother's believed that it was better than feeding themselves and many were bottle fed back then, but its so good to see the trend changing slowly. Even today, some mother's may not be able to feed due to a health concern and that's ok as they have no options due to a medical condition. But I really hope, mothers who are able to feed, dont give it up for silly misconceptions. I am just trying to do my bit for those mom's who can feed and to encourage them that they should not give up :) Thank you so much for stopping by and your wonderful feedback. It really means a lot to me :)
A wonderful page! I would have so loved to breastfeed my children, I tried hard but it didn't happen for me.

Thanks Alison. I can understand how you feel, but if you werent able to feed despite trying hard, its just tough luck. For some mothers it just doesnt happen and its ok. Never feel bad that you couldnt cause you did try and physiologically you couldnt. So you couldnt have done anything. Hugs to you <3
