Shine & Bright Coasters

Hi Friends,

Thank you for the warm response to  "Joy Canvas" tutorials. We are here with our second tutorials. This a tutorial for quick and simple coasters.

Materials:

  • MDF Coasters
  • Acrylic Paints (I used Fevicryl colours)
  • Penny black Blooming Garden Stamp set
  • Stazon black Ink pad
  • Sakura Black micron
  • Sakura Red Brush tip pen
  • Mod-podge
  • Varnish

Method:

  • Paint the coasters with acrylic paint. Apply a thick coat and use colours that you like
  • Once the paint was dried, I stamped the flower using Stazon black ink
  • Then I coloured the image using Sakura black micro and Sakura red brush tip pen
  • Next was the most difficult task. To let the whole thing sit for 24 hours to let the ink dry
  • Apply 2-3 coats of mod-podge and one coat of varnish to finish the product :)
Hope you enjoyed this simple tutorial to make some beautiful coasters.

Cheers,

Joy Canvas

Hi Friends,

Welcome to our very first blog tutorial. Its a simple tutorial for a mixed-media canvas that I did for a dear friend of mine.

Materials used:

  • 4 by 4 canvas
  • Camel white texture paste
  • Fevicryl acrylic colours
  • Ranger texture paste
  • Mod-podge 3 dimension
  • Artistry Inks
  • Blending foam
  • Stencils & die cuts
  • Alcohol markers
  • Sakura white Gelli pen
  • Glitter balls

Directions:

  1. I applied a coat of Camel white texture paste on a 4 by 4 canvas. You can use Gesso instead
  2. Once the Camel white texture paste was dry, I coloured it using Fevicryl acrylic Yellow & Purple colours
  3. Then added some green Fevicryl acyrlic colour to Ranger texture paste & used it with Bamboo Pie-Lane stencils to add some textures
  4. Coloured floral die cuts with Artistry inks using blending foam and coated it with Mod-Podge Dimensional and added some glitter balls on flower centers
  5. Using a stencil, wrote the sentiment "Joy" with "Steadler Fine Liners"and added colour to background using Artistry Inks. Used Sakura white Gelli pen to add dimension to the sentiment
  6. I also applied a coat of Mod-podge dimensional to the sentiment.
  7. I adhered everything on the canvas and added some outline on the florals and sentiment using alcohol markers

Hope you enjoyed our very first tutorial.

And before I sign-out from this post, I would like to dedicate my very 1st post to ENT surgeon Dr. Sonia Suprabha of Cards ,Crafts ,Kids Projects. I have many many many crafty idols, but Dr. Sonia has inspired and encouraged me the most to start a blog.
